Mike and Jan McNiece, left, Kathy and Dan Miller, right Back in 1979, Steve Doll, Mike McNiece and Dan Miller started a cattle feeding partnership at the present DM&M Feedyard location three miles south and one mile west of Cimarron, Gray County, Kansas. DM&M was an 800 head capacity feedyard and initiated a pasture program for the business. The yard was opened up to the public as a commercial feedyard in 1984. In 1989, Mike and Dan purchased Steve's share of the feedyard and incorporated in March of 1990. DM&M Farms, Inc. is owned 50-50 by Mike and Jan McNiece and Dan and Kathy Miller. As of 1990, the capacity of the yard had increased to 3,600 head. Today, the feedyard capacity is 12,000 head with a state of the art feedmill and over 3,000 acres of prime farm ground. DM&M Farms, Inc. also has access to wheat and rye pasture, alfalfa, corn & milo stalks, along with native and bluestem grasses. Dan Miller was born and raised in Gray County. He began farming and ranching in 1973. Dan is the Operations Manager for DM&M Farms, Inc. "Integrity is the key point of our feedyard," he says.
