CEDAR BLUFF STATE LAKE

Blue water and sandy beaches make Cedar Bluff Lake the water recreation mecca
for Western Kansas. You can see and photograph a diversity of wildlife species.
In winter, bald and golden eagles visit. Deer, turkey, and pheasant roam freely.
Waterfowl stop on the migrations, and a small Canada goose flock make the area home.

>HOMECOMING PARADE:

One of our well- attended community celebrations is our annual Homecoming Parade.
Students from our local schools build the floats and get together to choose
their homecoming King and Queen. A unique antique auto, tractor
and farm equipment show is also featured. It's a true community effort and a great
family day filled with tradition.

A Kansas Feedyard

Cattle raised on Kansas' grasslands are the most valuable agricultural product. Meatpacking and
dairy industries are also important; the Kansas City stockyards are the
nation's largest. Cattle consume 72% of the corn, 16% of the soybeans and 60%
of the hay grown in the state. Kansas has more than 36,000 farms
with cattle and calves.
